Having decided to ignore India’s Grand Afrikaans Safari, I choose to dedicate this post to 3 fine cricketers who retired last week when the Aussies took back their little urn.
Shane Warne, Glen McGrath and Justin Langer - lucky for me Youtube has clips of their final moments. Guaranteed to bring a lump to your throat, these clips left me wondering when the last time it was that I saw any Indian cricketer get a sendoff like the ones you’re about to see.

Like the saying goes, “All roads lead to Rome”, conversations with my dad usually lead to his sexual enCUMbrances or Indian cricket. Not that there is much of a difference.
Sachin Tendulkar might receive one such send-offs, given the sheer Indian population independent of his gaming prowess. On the subject of cricket, this evening, my dad was talking about the Indian “bench power” and an uncomfortably long period of silence persisted between us over the telephone. I only hope he is alright.
