I woke up excited. We were in the World Cup Finals. All the newspapers and Tv Channels went on and on and there was this huge sense of anticipation.

The drive to 10 Downing Street (the Hyderabad Pub, not the residence) was through a throng of other Indians such as I, all dressed in team colors, carrying flags and sporting huge smiles. Cricket and World Cup Final unite a nation and how!

I suspect pretty much the same thing is happening in Sri Lanka right now. I just got off the phone with my brother in NY and the Lankans there have gone mad. Lucky buggers.

The question here is, will they feel the same way I felt on the evening of the said day four years ago. The opposition is the same and this is their fourth time in a row. My heart is with the Lankans though my head says the Aussies will steamroll them as well.

    Wish we were there.

      Maybe not.
Maybe this time victory shall be ours (I have co-opted the Sri Lankans because of our miserable failure to make it)
So yes, maybe this time victory shall be the there for the Indian subcontinent’s?

      Maybe not.
Maybe this time we (I have co-opted Sri Lankan team because of utter failure of mine to make it)
      shall take home the cup.
Victory may be ours (Indian sub continent’s?) this time around

      Dear You,

That is incorrect. You have commented thrice. And yes, they did win.

Riggy - I dont think your pro-underdog rain dance pleased the gods like we expected. We simply must re-strategize.

      Cheers.

      Dear Me, Myelf and I…

Should have been here riggs. Was just brilliant with 25,000 cricket fans some really novice fans were supporting the Ozzies and the best was the lankans with their drums etc kept us awake all night. Was just great. I even shed a tear for the lankans while I had green and gold on.

      Stand PROUD lankans.
